2018 BEGINNERS ROOTING CLASS (2019 Info Coming!)

Beginner Rooting

About the teacher

Hello everyone -  I am Albie Wentzel.  I am so excited for the opportunity to teach the beginner rooting class at ROSE!

I started reborning in 2007. Angel Babies was founded by me and was born out of my love for art and all things beautiful. I live with my husband and three fur babies in Stilbaai – also called the Bay of Sleeping Beauty -  in South Africa.

I am one of those people who believe that you have to keep in touch with all the latest developments and therefore I don’t miss a chance to do a class where ever and whenever I can. I have also attended several rooting and painting classes by well known international master artists and am honored to be invited to teach the advanced rooting class in Adelaide, Australia as well as in Orlando at ID&TS, and now ROSE!!!!

I am proud to say that I am classified as a Master Artist and is a current IIORA and  Pra*ise holder for 3 years.

In 2013 I won the Tiny Tots award for best rooting at IDEX. In 2014 I won best reborn award in the advanced category for reborning at both the IDTS and ROSE shows. Two of my babies were also in the top 5 in the Diamond Awards. In 2015 I was nominated as one of the Top 5 Reborners at the ROSE show in Denver, Colorado.  In 2016 I won the first prize for my Toddler at the ROSE show as well as People’s Choice Award. I also won the 2016 Diamond Award. In 2017 I won the People’s Choice Award as well as 3rd place in the Silicone division at the ROSE show.

I am looking forward to share the skills that I have acquired over the years with fellow artists who share my love for the art of reborning.

9:00 am - 4:00 pm with a one hour lunch break (bring your own lunch)

The class will be a one day class. I believe that if you learn from the start to root the correct and beautiful way, you will be able to create beautiful babies. In this class, you will be taught different skills to master your rooting. For the beginner rooting is usually a daunting and time consuming task.  To achieve the best results and learn the correct way, you will have your babies hair looks like natural grown hair.  We will do mapping patterns and techniques to achieve realistic beautiful baby hair.

Included in the class

  • Squirt Bottle
  • Needles
  • Mohair
  • A pencil for mapping
  •  Rooting Pillow
  • Brush
  • Scissors
  • Tweezers
  • Instruction Booklet

What to bring with you:

  • A small lamp, this is very important.
  • A small  size head that has been painted and is ready for rooting.
  •  rooting tool if you choose to use one (I prefer to root without a tool – I feel I have more control over my needle this way)

Optional Items:

  • Some kind of eye magnification
  • Anything else you may want that I have not listed.

More Information:

****I recommend bringing a smaller size head that is softer vinyl. Harder vinyl usually needs to be heated to make the rooting process easier, which could be difficult for this class.***
